Exterior Lighting Design for Orange County Convention Center

Reimagining a new visual experience with dynamic façade illumination

As the second largest convention facility in the US, the Orange County Convention Center provides over 7 million SF of space for a variety of conventions and events. New lighting design for the exterior of the existing convention center created a new visual experience illuminating the iconic façade.

Using over 400 programmable RGBW LED luminaires, EXP re-imagined the convention center’s façade, allowing the owners full control over the dynamic illumination. Standing at over 40 feet tall, each of the columns on the North / South Concourse is lit with two color-changing RGBW fixtures. The iconic façade arches are also equipped with color-changing lighting – further enhancing the dynamic play of light.
