The Sotuba II hydropower project aims to upgrade and extend the existing Sotuba I hydropower plant in Bamako, Mali. The new powerhouse was constructed next to the existing power plant built in the late 1960’s. Sotuba II is equipped with two 3.5 MW Kaplan bulb turbines producing 45 GWh annually.
EXP is carrying out design review and work supervision, and advises on construction progress and challenges.
