EXP assists Montreal’s L/Avenue building achieve a third LEED certification

October 28, 2025

The commercial portion of the L/Avenue building, located on Avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal, earned its third LEED certification. EXP contributed its sustainability expertise to this project. This mixed-use building, which houses shops, offices and apartments, received its first LEED NC v2009 Silver certification in 2018, followed by LEED v4.1 E+E Gold recertification in 2022.

LEED v4.1 E+E certification recognizes sustainable practices related to the operation and maintenance of in-service buildings.  It aims to improve performance in energy, water, waste management, indoor air quality, sustainable mobility and occupant satisfaction.

The Gold rating for the commercial portion of the L/Avenue building is based on:

  • High energy performance.
  • High levels of occupant satisfaction and comfort.
  • Occupants’ adoption of sustainable modes of transportation.
  • Efficient waste management.

This achievement is a testament to the close collaboration between owner and operator BentallGreenOak and EXP. EXP’s team also recently contributed to the LEED certification for a building at 1250 Boulevard René-Lévesque in Montreal. EXP is proud to support its clients in their commitment to sustainable practices and proactive building management.
