The Orée-du-Parc Primary School features sustainable, high-performance design within new educational facilities.
The two main buildings feature a sports center, as well as a wing with 28 classrooms and administrative offices. A middle atrium, completely open to the outside, serves as the heart of the school – enabling gatherings and facilitating movement between the two buildings.
With the incorporation of sustainable systems and design elements, the new building is 20% more efficient than the model building of the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB). The new school features aerothermal system for heating and cooling the entire building, a high-performance main ventilation system with integrated rotary heat exchanger, radiant floors and LED lighting fixtures.
