This significant culvert replacement brings a new 88-meter long culvert to Route 15 – Wheeler Blvd, situated along one of the busiest provincial road segments in New Brunswick. With the project’s fast-track schedule and in consideration of constraints, we developed a streamlined design of a triple precast concrete box arrangement. One hundred and twenty-three individual precast concrete box sections were fabricated. The design provides appropriate culvert hydraulic performance to consider major upstream urban catchment and downstream tailwater tidal influence, as well as climate change effects of precipitation, sea level rise and storm surge.
