Small acts of kindness add up to making a big difference

December 15, 2021

In the spirit of EXP’s ongoing support for front-line professionals combating the COVID pandemic, the Barrie office, in conjunction with the Brampton office, recently provided a donation of chairs to the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit vaccination clinic. As the result of recent renovations and office mergers, EXP’s Brampton office found itself with a surplus of guest chairs that were slated to head to the landfill, as they are being replaced with new models.

Barrie manager Leigh Knegt heard of a need for chairs at a vaccination clinic local to him, and worked with Julie Burgic, of EXP’s Facilities team, to ensure that the chairs were redirected from the landfill. The chairs will be put to use by nurses and other staff administering and running the Orillia-based vaccination clinic, and are a welcome, more comfortable upgrade to rented folding chairs.

“It may not seem like that big of a deal to donate 28 chairs to this clinic, but if everyone gives where they can like this, then all these small acts of kindness add up to making a big difference, and a positive impact,” said Leigh Knegt about this donation.

Thank you to the Facilities team and to Leigh Knegt for making this act of kindness.
