Énergir is a diversified energy business whose mission is to find increasingly sustainable ways to meet the energy needs of its customers. The company has numerous offices across the province of Quebec, and each of them offers an innovative environment for employees to think differently about energy.
EXP implemented an indoor air quality program for nine Énergir buildings across the province. EXP’s air quality and industrial hygiene team provided:
- Assessment of indoor air quality parameters and selection of ambient air contaminants per existing standards and regulations
- Inspection of ventilation systems according to the National Air Duct Cleaners Association standards to determine safety levels and recommend corrective measures
- Radon testing as per Health Canada requirements and best practices established by the National Environmental Health Association and the National Radon Proficiency Program. Over 90 days, 140 radon detectors were installed throughout all nine buildings
- Assessment of worker exposure to welding fumes and other chemical contaminants in work areas
The resulting data was then used to provide tailored recommendations for maintaining and improving indoor air quality, while further protecting the well-being of Énergir employees.
