Giving on the green

July 11, 2018

On June 7, EXP hosted its 25th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Eagles Nest Golf Club in Vaughan, Ontario. Organized by Lloyd Gonsalves, SVP of Earth and Environment, Central Canada and a team of dedicated volunteers, the event included 18 holes of golf, brunch, dinner and entertainment.  With a full roster of 144 golfers and a total of 220 dinner guests including golfers, this tournament was sure to be a hole in one.

Having raised over $1.6 million since inception, this year’s tournament raised $150,000 to support worthy causes including: $63,000 to the Mackenzie Health Foundation, $25,000 to Have a Heart Charity (Toronto General Hospital), $20,000 to the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario, $25,000 to the Women’s College Hospital and $15,000 to the North York General Foundation.  EXP proudly funds this event, allowing for all money raised to go directly to the designated charities.

Former Toronto Maple Leafs Captain, Wendel Clark, served as the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and brought with him a feeling of nostalgia for all the Leafs and hockey fans present. In addition, EXP was honored to have guest speakers Dr. Carol Redstone, past president of Mackenzie Health Professional Staff Association and Mackenzie Health Foundation director and Mary Dodd, interim president and CEO of Women’s College Hospital Foundation.  Each spoke of the importance of health and expressed gratitude to EXP and everyone present for their support.

EXP is deeply appreciative of the contributions and donations from its clients, vendors and friends that made this event such a success and look forward to doing it all again next year!
