As leaders in the pipeline market, EXP’s Energy Services group has supported the growing needs of clients for over 40 years. With comprehensive pipeline engineering, environmental planning + permitting and integrity and compliance solutions, the team plays a significant role in many of North America’s complex pipeline projects, including the Keystone XL Pipeline Project (KXL), as the prime consultant.
Currently under construction by TC Energy, the KXL includes 1,210 miles (1,947 km) of pipeline, capable of safely delivering 830,000 barrels of crude oil from Hardisty, Alberta to Steele City, Nebraska. It then connects with existing TC Energy facilities to reach US Gulf Coast refiners to deliver critical needs for transportation fuel and useful manufactured products.
The Energy Services group joined KXL in 2006 to provide program management, safety/quality management, pipeline design, civil, environmental permitting + regulatory, compliance, geotechnical, mechanical, survey, GIS + data management, drafting and construction planning services. With multidisciplinary expertise, the team continues to provide critical environmental and compliance support for the project as it proceeds with construction.
Vice president of EXP’s Energy Services group, Richard Gale, shared, “As we continue to work on the Keystone XL Pipeline project, we seek ways to share our innovations, progress and lessons learned with our team members and fellow industry leaders. As trusted advisors, we see working on the Keystone XL Pipeline as an opportunity to share the importance of environmentally compliant, safe and reliable pipelines. Our team of experts are delivering services and solutions for what is expected to be the most advanced and safest pipeline in North America, and we look are working diligently doing our part in this effort.”
With quality, compliance and environmental safety at the forefront of our operations, our Energy Services team continues to serve the environmental, safety and compliance needs of the Keystone XL Pipeline and pipeline projects throughout North America.
