LaRonde Agnico-Eagle Mine

innovation for a major gold production facility

Agnico Eagle is a Canadian gold mining company that specializes in the extraction, treatment and production of gold. In production since 1988, the LaRonde Division is Agnico Eagle’s flagship mine and has produced over 6 million ounces of gold.

Ore is processed at the LaRonde complex using flotation and cyaniding circuits, producing doré bars containing gold and silver, as well as zinc and copper concentrates carrying valuable gold and silver credits.

As the deepest mine outside Africa, access to LaRonde’s underground mining operation is through the 2.2 km deep Penna Shaft. A 3.1km deep LaRonde mine extension allows access to even deeper ore at the lower part of the orebody.

EXP implemented a uniquely designed resin injection system that increases productivity while also improving safety for workers.
