Progress continues on State of Illinois $80 million data center

March 4, 2022

In 2021, EXP was selected by the Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB) as the architect/engineer for the new $80 million Central Computing Facility (CCF) for the Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT). Progress continues with the State of Illinois’ selection of the Dirksen Business Park in Sangamon County. EXP will continue the development of design bridging documents for the selected site to provide a state-of-the-art, efficient data center to support the state’s mission critical operations.

The new facility will enhance the digital infrastructure for the State of Illinois and is targeting LEED Silver Certification for data centers. “We look forward to continuing our work on this significant project for the State and supporting the implementation of cutting-edge infrastructure,” said EXP’s Project Manager Adam Ahrens. EXP is a leader in data centers, working with clients including Digital Realty, Coresite, Wayne State University, telecommunication providers and many others.
