Design milestone reached in the Constellation industrial park project

December 16, 2025

The City of Calgary’s Real Estate & Development Services (RE&DS) and EXP have completed design of the next two phases of the Constellation industrial park. With approximately 50% of the overall design now complete, the project continues to progress toward bringing the full industrial area to market to support Calgary’s long-term economic needs.

Constellation spans over 600 acres. Phase 1 is already in market, while design and engineering work on the remaining phases is underway. Through a competitive public procurement process, EXP was selected to serve as the prime consultant for civil engineering, landscape architecture, construction administration, stakeholder coordination and technical support.

Phase 1 design began in 2021, and construction activity continues across the site, including a stripping and grading development permit covering more than 500 acres. Full build-out of the park is expected to take 10-15 years. Upon completion, Constellation will contribute to Calgary’s role as a major North American logistics hub by expanding industrial infrastructure and supporting future industrial land supply.

Sustainability features are incorporated into the overall design approach, including drought-tolerant landscaping, LED street lighting, recycled materials and efficient utility servicing.

“We are excited to help develop the industrial portfolio of the City of Calgary,” EXP Senior Project Manager Pam Manz said. “Our team is determined to meet any challenges with innovative design and productive collaboration with RE&DS and the community.”
