All-electric hotel Limelight Boulder offers modern, naturistic spaces for CU Boulder campus and community

April 22, 2026

In late 2025, the Limelight Boulder hotel and conference center opened its doors to visitors, students and community members. With state-of-the-art amenities including a fitness center, rooftop pool and terrace, 2,000 sq ft game room with an integrated wet bar and a 4,000 sq ft event courtyard, the hotel offers a modern space for exploration and connection. There are also 500 parking spaces available to meet the hotel and university campus parking needs.

Completed as a collaboration between Aspen One Hospitality’s Limelight brand and the University of Colorado Boulder, EXP delivered mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP), fire protection and technology design services.

The project targeted a LEED Gold certification and adhered to strict sustainability standards. The heating, cooling, operational equipment and general-use facility power is conducted with electricity, making it an all-electric hotel with a reduced carbon footprint. EXP’s MEP experts created innovative designs to achieve all-electric status and fulfill client expectations.

“Our teams worked to create the ultimate guest experience within a safe, climate-friendly environment,” EXP Principal Ray Clark said. “We are happy to have helped fulfill the need for additional visitor accommodation that highlights the vibrant personality of Boulder.”
