Jeanne-Mance Park, a landmark in Montreal’s urban landscape and a gateway to Mount Royal, has undergone a major redevelopment to modernize its facilities and preserve the site’s historic character. EXP’s landscape architecture, civil engineering and structural engineering teams provided construction supervision throughout the project.
Our landscape architects played a key role in coordinating the various disciplines involved in the project. The team considered all technical aspects and anticipated how each component of the project affected its outcome. This approach helped identify innovative solutions to challenges encountered during construction, while also ensuring the overall consistency and quality of the site improvements.
“This cross-disciplinary collaboration proved essential to preserving and enhancing the aesthetic character of this iconic site while supporting the City of Montreal’s objectives,” EXP’s Team Lead, Landscape Architecture Sébastien Pinard said.
The work included constructing a wading pool equipped with a filtration system that meets current standards, renovating the park chalet and its washroom facilities and adding a splash pad.

In addition, the central walkway was relandscaped and approximately 30 trees were planted, while maximizing the protection and preservation of the site’s century-old trees.
This project restores one of Montreal’s most iconic public spaces. EXP is proud to have contributed to modernizing this gathering place, allowing residents to enjoy a welcoming, inclusive and sustainable space in the heart of the city.
