EXP has been selected by the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD) to reconstruct two overpass bridges and two culverts on Highway 20 above Rang Saint-Édouard in the municipality of Saint-Simon. In addition to conducting all preliminary studies required for the reconstruction, EXP’s multidisciplinary teams will complete the preliminary and detailed design studies, prepare the design and seal the plans and specifications.
The work includes demolishing and reconstructing the existing structures, as well as redeveloping ramps and access roads. The project will be carried out in four planned phases to ensure safe traffic flow and minimize disruptions for road users. Access to businesses and agricultural land will be maintained at all times for continuity of economic activities in the region.
Several EXP teams will contribute to the project, including specialists in bridge and civil structures, roadway engineering, traffic management, road equipment, lighting, landscape architecture and electrical engineering as well as environment, soils and materials. Land surveying, hydrology, bathymetry, ecological and hydraulic studies, and support for obtaining the required environmental permits are also part of the services that EXP is providing.
“We are pleased to be involved in this project, in collaboration with the MTMD and several other key stakeholders, and to contribute to the long-term sustainability of the road network, as well as to traffic safety and flow,” said Sylvain Denis, Senior Director, Design – Civil Structures at EXP and project manager for this initiative.
