EXP is committed to serving as a quality partner to the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority as it takes on a $2.5 billion capital program at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).
EXP has been selected to deliver full-service architecture and engineering services for Transform RDU, a program designed to deliver a new primary runway, a Terminal 2 landside expansion, an improved roadway system and additional economy parking capacity.
Projects will feature asset lifecycle renewal and facility modernization to address reliability, safety and efficiency of passenger-facing improvements.
EXP’s work at RDU will focus on campus-wide building condition assessments, mechanical and electrical system rehabilitation and improvements, building management system improvements, building envelope studies, office and concessions improvements and building and equipment commissioning. These renovations will support RDU’s near- and long-term facility program with integrated architecture, structural, MEP, fire protection, technology, security, baggage handling, passenger conveyance, signage and sustainability expertise.
“EXP brings over 55 years of aviation experience and the multidisciplinary depth to respond to a wide range of airport facility needs through complex airport projects,” Vice President, Director of Aviation Marcos Souza said. “Our goal is to elevate this space to accommodate additional passengers, aircrafts and cargo and support RDU’s growth as a travel hub.”
