The Shriners Hospitals for Children health care system encompasses 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children through pediatric specialty care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals.
The new 75,000 GSF Shriners for Children Medical Center brings specialized pediatric care for Shriner’s patients in the greater Pasadena area and across the southwestern US. The 3-story, OSHPD-3 facility provides surgery suite and operating rooms, PACU suites, physical and occupational therapy, radiology, specialty clinics, orthotics and prosthetic fitting and adjustment, pharmacy, as well as administration. Providing multidisciplinary engineering during design and construction of the new hospital, EXP conducted a value engineering exercise saving the hospital $40k on a $200K fixture cost without compromise of design.
