Brightline Aventura Station

Aventura, FL, USA

Modern new station focused on passenger convenience

The new Brightline Aventura Station provides a flexible, modular and sustainable facility designed around passenger convenience.

A modern new facility for transit

Planning and development for the station aimed to capture increased ridership through professionals commuting in South Florida and demand due to the proximity of Aventura Mall.

Located on a 3-acre site, the modern new station extends 34,000 square feet across the main passenger building, three vertical circulation towers and an 860-foot platform along the tracks. Construction also adds 240 parking spaces, bus shelter and circulation area and a 7,700 SF modular manufacturer building.

An enclosed pedestrian bridge connects the boarding platforms to the station’s vertical circulation towers. With this addition, passengers are able to safely cross over the adjacent train tracks and West Dixie Highway. An open-air pedestrian bridge will eventually cross over Biscayne Boulevard, connecting the station to the Aventura Mall.

Multidisciplinary design and commissioning solutions

EXP led building engineering, commissioning and specialist design services for technology and lighting for the new station complex. System design included emergency power generation for continuity of service. Sustainable design features and smart technologies contributed to LEED Silver certification.

Modular techniques for future transit-oriented development

The new station was constructed using modular manufacturing construction techniques so the vertical circulation towers, platforms and bridges could be incorporated into future transit-oriented development.
