In the April 2023 issue of Modern Steel Construction, EXP’s Structural Engineer Kamlesh Kumar, SE, PE, describes the coordinated design and construction efforts with one team providing preliminary and final design services on a major rehabilitation project for two key pieces of the Champaign-Urbana infrastructure. The Illinois Department of Transportation’s I-74 bridge is an example of selective reuse of the existing substructure, overcoming challenges posed during global challenges and solutions to deliver improved traffic flow throughout the region.
