Building Science group positioned for rapid growth

With an aim to grow by strengthening our core capabilities and offering new services, EXP is pleased to announce the restructuring of the Building Science group in Central and Western Canada.

To meet current and future client needs, we have identified Sustainability and Commissioning as a discipline that requires a new direction and solid leadership to spearhead the expansion of this practice in Canada. That’s why our Earth and Environment and Buildings groups are reorganizing to capitalize on this opportunity with the following changes.

Central Canada

Shohreh Salimpour-Karimi, M.Eng., P. Eng., M. Arch., OAA(Int.), LEED AP, PMP will lead this effort as Director of Sustainability and Commissioning, building on her unique blend of education, training and leadership experience. Sathya Ramachandran, Architect, B.Arch., M.A.Sc. is now the Director of Building Science, GTHA, moving to Brampton from Calgary where he has been instrumental in growing the building science practice in Alberta. Greg Hildebrand, C.E.T., M.Sc. (Eng.), has been promoted to Technical Director – Building Science, Ontario. In this role, he will guide and enhance the efforts of Shohreh and Sathya to achieve their goals. Greg is a researcher, educator and practitioner, with over 40 years of experience, and is well-respected in the industry with an award-winning reputation.

Western Canada

Dino Chies, P.Eng., BEP has been promoted to Director of Building Science in Western Canada.  Based in Burnaby, Dino has been leading the team in BC for more than 15 years and will now assume responsibility for the practice across the region. Amir Hassan, MSc, P.Eng., PE,  becomes the Manager of Building Science in Edmonton, where he has made substantial contributions to the practice’s growth and success. Johnathon Bain, P.Eng., has returned to EXP as the Manager of Building Science in Calgary, where his team will benefit from his guidance and insight.

This coordinated approach will allow us to develop strategies, create a winning culture and maintain processes and practices for technical excellence in the field of building science.
