Vernon O. Crawley Science Hall

fostering student interaction through design at Moraine Valley Community College

Sited to define the western edge of the Moraine Valley Community College campus, the Vernon O. Crawley Science Hall creates a defined, cohesive campus quad . The Science Hall provides a state-of-the-art teaching facility with the latest instructional technology, contributing to the realization of the overall campus masterplan.

The new Vernon O. Crawley Science Hall includes 100,000 SF of teaching laboratories, classrooms and faculty offices, as well as a unique Hybrid Sciences Lab and Student Group Study Room.

Inside, corridors are conceived as indoor streets that focus activity and energy, creating opportunity for informal meetings between students and faculty. Break-out spaces are located both horizontally and vertically along these streets, and two-story spaces provide visual connectivity throughout.
