The reconstruction of US 20 over McLean Boulevard defines a new roadway standard for US 20 while bringing a safer, more efficient interchange to the community of Elgin.
A new at-grade Single Point Urban Interchange (SPUI) provides improved capacity, with additional widening of US 20 and McLean Boulevard, while a new 608-foot long-span bridge completes the design. Complex staging and maintenance of traffic strategies minimized impacts to the surrounding community during construction.
Drivers through the interchange now experience safer navigation, improved site lines and a smoother, more efficient roadway.
