    Exp designed the new Emergency Services Building (ESB) including the BP Whiting firehouse and security services. The ESB is a multi-functional program including offices, conference rooms, a training center, locker rooms, a dispatch room, a maintenance shop, decontamination rooms, and a 6 bay apparatus building. Exp's extensive roll in construction delivery includes the implementation of the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) method.

    Exp performed preliminary and detailed engineering of a process for producing krill oil (omega-3) by solvent extraction for the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical markets. Oil production had to be performed in an environment that complied with health, safety and industry standards. The project also involved the design of a clean room, an anti-explosion room, a chemical warehouse and the storage of 30,000 liters of flammable solvent. We provided civil and structural engineering, process engineering, building mechanics and electrical, instrumentation and automation pre-operational verification, and commissioning services.

    Working on a tight deadline, Uniboard Pfleiderer asked us to develop a new process to treat gases that would be produced by its new wood panel manufacturing plant. Traditional methods used in the industry to oxidize and destroy the polluting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were not viable options for our client. The new process would have to meet very stringent environmental standards and adequately fulfill society's new expectations for sustainable development.

    The CGT technology our team developed is unique in the world and is now patented or has patents pending in 39 countries. It is a global first in advanced oxidation, where hydrogen peroxide is used to generate the oxidizing agent via photocatalysis, on an industrial scale, to dynamically treat polluting gases.
