Exp was selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to conduct inspections of electrical power systems, perform fire safety inspections, and provide fire safety training at all U.S. occupied facilities under the responsibility of U.S. Forces, Afghanistan. Our deployment team includes Registered Professional Engineers, qualified Master Electricians and Journeymen, along with 32 admin, IT, CADD, and project management support staff. In addition to the inspections, corrective action recommendations, and training, we're creating an electrical database to track the electrical system inventory. We've also developed a portal collaboration system to communicate efficiently with Army stakeholders.

Exp provides program coordination services to the Savannah District for the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Act, facilitating the relocation of the Armor school from Ft. Knox to Ft. Benning. This BRAC action is critical to creating the new Maneuver Center of Excellence, which will become part of the Armor School's doctrine transformation of training for infantry and armor soldiers in the same theatre at Ft. Benning. We provide multi-discipline design integration for more than 100 barracks, equipment maintenance facilities, dining centers, brigade and battalion headquarters, company operations facilities, tank training simulator labs, general instruction buildings, road improvements and live fire small arms and tank ranges. We've developed several unique electronic program Web site tools to assist in the coordination and delivery of information to all participants including Ft. Benning Master planning, the base DPW, the U.S. Armor School Users, Contractors, Architects/Engineers and USACE Program Management personnel.

Our team provided design/build services for a new communications facility. The project includes a 21st Century technical/media center, a computer room, a DCO switching center, two SCIF-type areas for communications, external ground and aerial-based radar locations, and underground cable vaults.

Exp provided design and construction administration services for the new First BCT Brigade headquarters. The project is a brigade complex utilizing Savannah District's Command and Control Facility guidelines. In addition, we coordinated this first BHQ complex at the base with the new Installation Design Guide for use of matching brick, standing seam roofing systems and exterior color palettes to comply with the surrounding base building profiles.

We provided design and construction administration services for a new brigade training center. The project is an electronic training classroom based on the 21st Century training doctrine. The facility has extensive telecommunications and audio/video cabling systems for distributed media training systems throughout the classroom.

We provided design/build services for an adaptive re-use of an existing structure, allowing for maximum flexibility in training, innovative efficiencies in its HVAC systems, and cost-savings measures which benefit both the School and any future use the space may have. The School includes a dining area, with a food prep grill, beverage station, and salad bar. A scullery, loading/storage area, and a service closet running the length of both Labs are also provided.

The Great Lakes Naval Station Visitor's Center is organized into three main volumes; the center high volume, which consists of the public waiting and circulation space, is flanked by two lower volumes which consist of public meeting rooms and staff and building support functions.
