To create an exciting and unique getaway experience for SeaWorld guests, Busch Entertainment Corporation came up with a new attraction to amaze visitors of all ages. Aquatica combines rarely seen marine animals with the thrill of water park attractions. The park includes a slide that goes through the Commerson's dolphin exhibit, providing an up-close-and-personal view. Our team provided electrical, fire protection, lighting and technology design in this 35-acre naturalistic setting.

This 330,000 SF office building is the fifth addition to the Bell Canada Campus. The structure of the building is a cast-in-place, flat slab concrete system supported on concrete columns and includes two feature staircases with structural steel. The five-story building also includes a two-story, 310,000 SF underground parking garage for about 680 cars. The building is LEED® Silver certified.

Caesars Palace Colosseum
This 4,000-seat concert hall was inspired by the original of ancient Rome. A spectacular building, it has over 172,000 SF and features a semi-circular stage, giant 3-D screen and a modular floor for various set-ups. Because of its location on the grounds of Caesars Palace, it had to be designed to straddle the main driveway of the hotel. Our team developed the structural concept, preliminary drawings and specifications, as well as performance specifications.

This stunning building was converted from the France Pavilion (for Canada Expo '67) into a 4,500-person capacity casino and state-of-the-art entertainment facility. Some of the challenges our team faced in providing electrical, architectural lighting and site supervision services were significant structural changes, electrical upgrades, tight construction schedule and a highly complex lighting and camera surveillance system.

A new head office for the Caisse Desjardins brought together 11 different locations in one six-story building. It features an underground parking garage and a drive-thru teller, and both the building and surrounding landscaping were designed to meet sustainable development standards. Bearing partitions were also used in elevator shafts and the stairwells to add strength to the reinforced concrete building. Services provided include; structural and civil plans and specifications (preliminary and detail), construction monitoring and materials control during construction LEEDLM coordination and certification review of commissioning plans, erosion control plan, air quality plan, waste management plans and representation at public consultations (structural, civil)

This project is a big part of the transformation of downtown Fredericton. Our team prepared a master plan for the area, including a traffic study, parking assessment and a facility program using vacant land in the city core. The buildings include a six-story, cast-in-place concrete office building; a three-story, steel-framed conference center; and a 450-vehicle pre-cast parking garage. In keeping with the city's 'Green' plan, the project has been designed to LEED® Silver standard, incorporating energy efficient boilers, chillers and lighting systems, water recycling, well insulated building envelope, and daylighting for the office spaces.

EPIC Systems Corporation, a software development company, needed a unique and sustainable campus to meets its growing needs and compete for talent against the likes of Microsoft and Google.
The campus has been designed to support Epic's staff, but also to be used as a marketing tool for current and future clients. Exp has designed more than 3.5M SF of space and is currently working on more than 600,000 SF of new projects, which are being designed to be highly sustainable. Each building has a separate interior design theme with a strong focus on employee satisfaction, work performance and culture.
Exp provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, commissioning, lighting design and technology design services.

This project involved the design of a new Service Center complete with all associated buildings and site development for the Government of Canada, Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Development of the site includes new access roads, public, staff and service vehicle parking, landscaping, secure exterior storage as well as new underground services for all required building systems. Exp was the prime consultant, providing architectural services throughout all phases as well as the coordination of all professional sub-consultants. We also provided civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, materials testing and clerk-of-the-works services.

When Toronto-based Manulife Financial acquired John Hancock Financial Services, they asked us to design a facility that supports the goals of the merger, and the expanding business, while reflecting sophistication and professionalism. This project included the design and programming of the renovation of an existing warehouse into a high technology call center and one of the four North American central data centers. Our team provided programming as well as design of the data center which included high, mid, and low density areas with expansion capabilities.

The only facility of its kind in North America, the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute is a medical research and education facility. As part of St. Michael's Hospital and affiliated with the University of Toronto, it includes two buildings, the Keenan Research Centre and the Li Ka Shing International Centre in Healthcare Education. The project involved the demolition of existing buildings and construction of two new nine-story above-grade formed concrete structures, and three levels of below-grade parking. The building has wet and dry laboratories for a wide range of medical research programs, a vivarium and state-of-the-art conference center. We provided structural engineering services.

This is the single largest expansion to the original Walt Disney World theme park since it opened in 1972 and includes: a Cinderella Castle wall; Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid; The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train featuring a first-of-its kind ride system with a train of ride vehicles that respond to the twists and turns of the track; Princess Fairytale Hall; and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. Guests can experience fun-filled family games and interactive wonders inside the Big Top; the existing Barnstormer ride is getting a makeover and the Great Goofini will take guests on a rollercoaster flight above the Big Top; Fantasyland Train Station will replace the existing Toon Town Station; Storybook Circus Tents will be part of the grand Storybook Circus. Guests will be able to purchase merchandise from the Big Top Souvenir shop and meet characters at Pete's Silly Sideshow.

Scope and features include three floors of planned vertical expansion, free-standing four-story medical office building with space for outpatient surgery, fully digital imaging, paralleled 1,000kw diesel generators and a remote free-standing central energy plant. This luxury hotel features 497 guest rooms and 169 suites, and is the first newly built Waldorf Astoria since the legendary original in New York City. The hotel was completed in 2009, and also features a spa, five restaurants, a 2,700-ton central energy plant, and emergency power facility and two 200-HP steam boilers. Our team provided a host of services for the project, including; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, commissioning, fire protection, lighting design, construction administration and technology design.
