Organizational Training Center
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Ft. Stewart, Georgia
This project involved design and construction of a new single-story 16,000-SF brigade training center at Fort Stewart featuring electronic training classrooms based on the 21st Century training doctrine. The facility has extensive telecommunications and audio/video cabling systems for distributed media training systems throughout the classroom, and features open lecture training room using the latest in wired furniture systems for power and communications. The training center, built using a seismic structural steel system, includes a central office core for offices and instructors where teaching materials are prepared.
Exp Federal provided all of the design services for this project-site/civil, architectural and engineering-as well as surveying and construction administration. The entire design process was reviewed through the use of Dr. Checks and various other team website communication tools during design. We ensured that this first training complex at the base was coordinated with the new Installation Design Guide, specifying matching brick, standing seam roofs, and exterior color palettes to comply with the surrounding building areas and nearby parade field. In addition, in coordination with Huntsville District, we coordinated all of the furniture and interior design within the facility.
